Front Mount Problems

this is my first project and I put an amazon Imaycc on a gary fisher tarpon. the build went good except I made the not smart decision to trim the mounting studs in the front. I chopped them off with a hacksaw because they didn't fit around the big mountain bike frame. I can't ride it because the rear mount isn't enough to hold the engine. I know I really messed up by chopping the studs, but is there any way to make another mount or replace the studs in the engine?

Drill studs in center and try a ez out. Why did you wack them off that close to mount?

I'll try that this weekend. I cut em off that close because the motor wouldn't sit down nice. the frame is real wide because it's a mountain bike

Start with getting the old studs out and we'll start from there

Why didn't you just take them out, two nuts on the end and turn the one closest to the engine to remove stud.

You could chase them out with a center punch.
This one has a wide tube, I made a plate to off set.

If all else fails a sure way to get them out is to set a nut on top and weld it to the stud through the center with a wire welder.

If you use an extractor you can add a chance to remove them when drilling by using a left hand drill bit set. Sometimes you can get them to grab and they will spin the broken bolt/stud out.

I used the EZ out bits and it just came out right away. There was no loctite or nothing. I'm going to run to the hardware store soon to get some more studs and then I'll try to rebuild the mount.

I replace all my studs for the motor mounts with bolts, much more solid connection...I had a stud break off on me once years ago, thats when I decided I would always replace the studs with bolts for now on.
