I replace all my studs for the motor mounts with bolts, much more solid connection...I had a stud break off on me once years ago, thats when I decided I would always replace the studs with bolts for now on.
Bolts are good for the one and done guys like you. For the younger guys that have iffy bikes an 8 mm stud is a lot more forgiving to swap bikes if the first one breaks.
