Fuel Bowl Overflow

HEY HEY!

Whenever I open my fuel tap at the tank, my carb's fuel bowl begins to overflow and trickle down through the overflow tube.

If I tap the fuel bowl lightly with a small hammer, the overflow stops, and I ride withour further incident.

I hope this doesn't mean that I have to open the carb and set the float level!

Sounds more like open your carb and clean the needle, or find the reason your float is hanging up. Used to have lots of small engines that would sit for a while and then develop that problem. Screw driver (with plastic handle) and a sharp rap to the carb got them going until I could clean them out.

This is not uncommon at all Hal. I used to have that problem but it stopped after I started using a fuel stabilizer. The gas now is just junk and will gum up a carb in a hurry.
