fuel leakage, and spark plug

i was just looking over my engine and having some small issues, fuel and smoke comeing out of air cleaner when i shut it off ( after a 2 mile ride ). seems to be some fuel coming out the spark plug at the base of the threads. I took the plug out and it was really carboned. I Only have about 50miles on the new engine. Any help would be appreciated Thanks

you don't have to, but an "introduce yourself" is always a good start at MBc, then do some reading/searching about mixture/idle/plug gap/air leaks/carb...(policies, also)...i think you'll find there's no need for new topics about happy-time basics.

you may not be torquing the plug all the way, for one. see the "MBc owner's manual" for more basic stuff.
