The problem with rear suspension on a motored bike is keeping the chain tensioned, if it's not really close to the pivot point of the rear suspension it will loosen and tighten as the suspension moves.

A little tough on startup when the chain tension is against the tensioner.

Seems to me the solution is to have the tensioner on the return side.

But the return side is under tension when you bump start a gas bike unless you have come up with a chain that you can push
