Since the abolition of the Department of War, and the institution of the Department of defense, complete with the Joint many conflicts has the USA won, out right with no end in sight?

Depends on how you define "conflict".

If a required element is troops on the ground, then we have "won" only two. Panama and Grenada. Iran was a fiasco - a total clusterf*ck. We cut our losses and ran, from both Lebanon and Somalia. Iraq and Afghanistan we are still boots and blood in the dirt with. The "military advisor" teams on the ground in Colombia are having less success in achieving their mission goals - helping to interdict the flow of cocaine and take out the narcotraficantes - than did the advisory teams in Vietnam under Eisenhower.

    Good question....

    Imo, none.

The "wars/conflicts" are nothing more than an aversion by the gov't to hide the truth. How many gov't objectives have been completed because the american populace has been focused on the wars? Now that's a different subject.... ;)

If this thread keeps going with input of our members, we will arrive at a conclusion here. The conclusion being, we are either at war or not.

There is a giant fallacy that we are currently at war. Just like the War on drugs started by our first mistake (election wise). Some hail him a hero, LOL!

This isn't a war we intend to win at all (in Washingtons view). If it were, 100% of our soldiers gear would be made in America or our Allies Countries.

Not speaking poorly of Australian, English or Canadian Citizens because as an American I see that all of our Countries have been hi-jacked by the Liberal Fahhh-ghooots!

These other Countries have allowed the muzzl'em extremists to undermine their Governments, like we almost did with allowing the building of a mosque at ground zero.

France, LOL, what else do we expect....

Totally agree. If a nation goes to war or enters a conflict, then all of the opposing nation assume the same risk. They have the ability to overthrow their Government and sue for peace, or to join the cause in underground subversion.
