I'm just thinking out loud...
I found a 2x2 electric powered hub system this morning on alibaba.com that intrigued me. Two power hubs controlled by a single controller. That led to the idea of adding a rear mounted Honda GXH50 4 cycle engine to power an alternator. It wouldn't take much more than a fast idle to produce the power needed to run the power hubs.
Has anyone here ever tried such a project? It works well in locomotives using diesel powered generators to power electric traction motors. Any comments would be appreciated.
