Gas tank minimum height ?(gravity fed)

For you to do 35 kph on 11.5" tires at 7000 rpm means your drive system would be an 11\1 reduction. So all you did by changing engines was have an engine 200 rpm reduction. Meaning your 4 stroke speed should be doing 34 kph.

The fact it dropped to 25 kph means:

You either have loose belts and/or a slipping clutch.

Your 2 stroke was going higher than 7000 rpm and/or the 4 stroke isn't reaching 6800 rpm.

A tachometer will help you determine if it's an engine issue or a drive system issue.

This is the one I recommend:

Small Engine Tachometer Hour Meter: Timorn Digital Inductive Waterproof Tiny Tach Meter & RPM Meter & HR Meter for Dirt Bike | Chainsaw | Lawn Mower | Generator Motorcycle Boat Marine Outboard https://a.co/d/99H3AbV

@Sidewinder Jerry - That is what I was expecting to hear and appreciate your confirmation in regards to loss of speed. Slipping clutch I wonder, at higher rpms?? And the engine i replace was a smaller 2 stroke that mounted to the drive plate connected on the other side of a solid L shaped piece of metal and sat over the bottom plate a couple inches....the new engine being larger fit in snug and literally just sits wedged onto the pre-existing base mount ( I have not noticed any movement whatsoever from it as it is wedged and bolted to the drive plate on the other side of the L shaped mount, and always check the tightening of the bolts that never seem to loosen.)

I recommend getting a super duty clutch like the one on the left side.

That tachometer would cost me $85, any other recommends...any half decent tachometer would do? I think I have less options being in Canada sadly. Changing out the clutch was another thing that seemed to be an option worth the money, any good recommends like that are right up my ally! Now its just a matter of finding a good clutch replacement that can ship to canada for under $50 preferably.

Do they not have Ali-Express, Amazon or eBay in Canada?

On the gas thing. Star-tron works well, the price has gone up by $5 since I last bought some. 10 ml for 10 liters.
I also put 10 ml of Sta-bil in too for good measure.

I found eth free marked premium at the petroleum supplier near me. Works great and is a couple cents less than pump regular.

Such a deal for us Canuks at only 1.68 per liter. Not!

Yes we have access to ebay, aliexpress etc in Canada, but there are many small odd things that will state "cannot ship to Canada" and its not because of the site as they ship other things to Canada. Lot of small engine stuff seems to fall in the cannot ship to Canada. I was tempted to scoot to the small airport near me and start looking around for ethanol free =)

Before I'd rule out getting it, because you think it'll cost you a fortune. Go on Amazon, eBay, and Aliexpress and type in Timorn tachometer; then see what comes up. Who knows you may be able to afford it????
