GEBE axle refernce

Just for a post of reference here...

On a 26" wheel with a 7 speed hub attached, an axle of 187mm gives enough room for the mounts to rest on and have the lock nuts fully threaded onto the axle.

For those who want to build one and worry about the axle....

Axle Length with GEBE

I will check my past threads, but I believe the longest axle length is 9 inches and that will all one to lock the rear wheel, mount the rack and lock it safely with two SS locking nuts. I found it, here: http://www.motoredbikes.com/showthread.php?t=5751&highlight=Hive

That way, if needed, the engine/rack can be removed for storage or engine repair, while the bike remains a normal bicycle, with no problems, save securing dangling cables, etc.
