Well, i decided to start a new thread as im upgrading and improving the ghetto bike (i have the whole summer now! And i can afford to have it out of commission for longer)

First mods i did:

I Shaved the eyebrows on the engine, it was a quick 20 minute port job, nothing much.
I shaved the head down .020 (had a buddy whos dad owns a milling machine, kind enough to do it for free!)

Repairs thus far:
i fixed the head bolt if the engine (bolt snapped, i taped it out to m8 as the hole was stripped bad)
I replaced 6 spokes up (yea yea, rag joint on a big engine, but the sponks only snapped becuase i didn't tighten them and they got spaghetti loose then bent and snapped)
Trued the wheel (really impressed with myself, its streight as a arrow)
Adjusted the breaks ( the wheel was like a taco and glazed the pads, so i replaced them with a used pair, thry work great now!)

Anyway, I got some stuff in the mail for this thing! Stay tuned

(Also, my buddy also got a motorized bike, helped him weld up the frame, tell me what you think!)

Those spokes that snapped are they aluminum or steel? Those are clean snaps too, took a lot of force to do that.

I beleve its steel, but im not certain, i beleve they snapped like that becuase when its not tensioned up they are allowed to flex, and how this motor acts is its like a impact wrech on takeoff, then it smooths out, it started with one snapping and i brushed it off. Now im more careful on take off (aka not hammering the throttle like i used to)
Hope it doesn't happen again

Upgrade #2

Well, it finally came! My protaper grips!

The current ones on my bike were utter junk. It came with the CG kit i bought last year. I think ther made of acutal plastic, my bike is a mid 90s mountain bike, with zero suspenstion, when i go out for a long period of time, my hands ache and turn red. I have to stop multiple times in a 10mile trip to revive my hands.
Theses grips should remedy that (i hope, i spend 13$ on these bad boys)
I took one test drive and they feel great! All the vibration is gone, my hands feel so relieved!!

Best 13$ ive ever spent!
