Have ordered a 26" gold beachcruiser retro frame. Everything will more or less be gold on it. Currently, it will be a rear hub motor drive about 1KW, still debating whether I need it that big. Had considered a 350watt 36volt system. Anyhow, gold straight springer for in front. While the rear wheel will be a 26" x 2.125, the front I am considering a 20" maybe with a disc brake. I know there are mounting kits out there. Not too worried about the rear wheel, but the springer forks I am a bit concerned. I had been looking for maybe a sturem archer 20 inch wheel but have not located one. Anyhow will also add a 5 speed gold cluster in the back and then an original Schwinn vintage Krate style shifter for a 5 speed. Have also considered a Bafang BBSHD mid drive setup which would leave me with just the normal wheels in the back.
My second project once I have experience in the Gold Krate will be a Chrome Krate, same EBike deal. My third project will be a chrome cruiser frame for a trike with hollow hub wheels astern and a motorcycle chopper fork up front to add a 1KW motor to. Will start posting again here, and thanks to the forum mods for keeping these great forums going.
For about a year since my Ford Mustang engine bit the dust at 121k miles, I just sold it for scrap and decided to use ebikes for local transport, even on rainy days to the doctors 6 miles away. The ebikes have worked flawlessly for me. If I need any real distance travel, I can always pop over to Hertz or Budget Rental cars and get one for long distance needs. Otherwise I figured out I am saving around $6,300.00 per years between gas, oil changes, insurance, license tags, a tune up as well as smog on the car. These next three ebikes will be cheap compared to the car which sat most of the time in my garage.
Stay tuned all and God Bless. Hoping the solid state battery options arrive soon.
