Okay, ordered a Schwalbe Big Apple with extra protection, Thorn Resistant tube, going to also add an extra layer insert for this 26" rear tire. Front tire is a solid Tannus. Added brake handles, had to purchase a new adjuster for the Archer brake up front. Installed computer display, hand grips, mirror, thumb throttle. Under the seat I will be mounting a flying seat post rack for the controller if it is too big to fit in a box behind the seat post.
So waiting on the tire and tube to first check the pedal crank height as acceptable. Then will install the rear wheel, caliper mount, rear torque arms and the derailleur, plus the chain.
Next will be a rear gold fender, chain guard with logo, rear brake caliper dded to the mount and stick shifter. At that point next month the bike will be ready to sit on and make all the necessary adjustments between the seat and handlebar.
In early December a compact triangle battery to be mounted in the open space of the frame and setup. Then a test ride. There are somethings I shall be watching for. The stability of the front end at various speeds (how safe it is), wheelie threat potential (there's a reason a Krate is called a wheelie bike)...if I like this, I'll proceed to build an Apple krate, Orange Krate and Lemon Peeler the same only with 500 watt 36/v system instead, but similar. Getting logos and since most of the non color parts are basic chrome pieces will be cheaper to do as well. Since I already know what parts to get, the frame, chainguard, handgrips aside based on their colors, the rest of the parts are the same.
The kit I am installing on the Gold Krate can mimic either a 1,000 watt or 750 watt motor. I am going to test both, but suspect it will remain a 750 watt setup which also classifies this as a straight Class 2 bike more or less. I don't see a need to ride this fast, it is more a cruising bike in my humble opinion. Anyhow that's where we are.
