Gold E-Krate first project build.

I'm thinking you have come so far with this set up why change everything at this point?

So it won't go into the lowest gear, not the end of the world. Just adjust the derailleur to stop where it doesn't interfere with the hub. No one will know except you.
If I can't resolve this then will go mid drive system. I have planned mid drives for my replica E-Krates Orange and Apple Krates and Lemon Peeler.

You could move the gear cluster away from the hub. Of course easier said than done.
actually, it has a spacer already supplied by the kit manufacturer. So it's already installed. Again, I may just go with a 500 watt Mid Drive unit. I plan to build my other Krates that way.

Sent message to kit vendor. Question, because the rear hub motor hasn't yet been hooked up to battery is that why the hub varies in how freely it spins and at times how hard it spins? Awaiting a reply. Going to remove shim sliver for handlebar and try to fully shim it for a tighter grip...stay tuned.

Today, this morning, went into the garage and separated the yellow, blue and green motor wires. I'll be...the rear wheel turns freely again. So if these wires are touching, they seem to affect the magnets in the hub motor. Danged, ya learn something every time. That problem is solved. Tightened down the handlebars, not sure how much more though. I fear anymore and the bolt will break off. Ordered new metal center mount adjustable kickstand to replace the dual kickstand.

The manufacturers cassette spacer is 1.5mm, they said I'll need to pull the wheel and then cassette and install a 2mm spacer and then the derailleur will no longer ship. Maybe they should have included that from the start you think.

I shall revisit this issue at a later time, and at that time will install a 5 speed cassette and a sunray shortcage derailleur, and finally a stick shift. My very next priority after getting this working will be getting the Schwinn meridian trike converted so I can do better grocery shopping. I have decided on either a 350 watt (preferable) 36 volt system, or a 500 watt 48 volt system either with a high Amp Hour battery for more distance travel.

On the Gold Krate, I am still contemplating the front Schwalbe tire instead of the currently installed Tannus tire, will decide after a bit more riding on it.

Okay, installed speaker mount on frame, for riding tunes with my older Jam Plus speaker. Next up to install the controller box. For now I'll shift between 2nd and 7th gear. After this, just need to mount a battery hook it up and then test ride it.

On a side note. Just too bad there wasn't a 29inch Springer fork in gold as this would have leveled the bike out better. Did mess up left pedal making left turn, hit the ground and looks really bad (Cheap Crap) anyhow I'll have to be more careful I guess. Well have a good one everyone and stay safe.

Found out the rear hub motor can take a 52 volt battery. Was warned anything more could burn out the controller. Will probably select a 48 volt system and get one that has increased AH coverage.

triangle battery and controller box mounted on front seat downtube won't work. But the controller box mounted above the main frame tube and the triangle battery mounted below it in frame will work. Most likely on this going to get a 48volt 15amp battery, more than enough range on pedal assist and even throttle considering this bike will be mostly very local and rarely ridden. I am also looking at the 10amp smaller battery in a bag.

Update: Triangle battery on order. It is a 52V 15AH battery and its in a bag, a compact Haillong. I believe that it will fit inside the top frame with a few issues which can be resolved. Too bad I had to go with the controller box on the front of the downtube seat bar, would have been better in the back of it. So the controller box is now mounted and ready to do the wiring. Not enough room inside it to tuck wires inside as the controller that came with the kit is quite large. My next Krate builds will be mid motor types and have the controller built in, so this will be a much less cluttered build. The reason to build the Gold Krate has been for more education, and then to see how it rides. This will aid me in my next Krate builds.

The controller box installed. Wiring at the top will be tight. Cleanup of the loose or extra wiring won't be too pretty.

Flip down dual kickstand like a motorcycle.

Bluetooth Jam speaker mount for my 1960's tunes. Got to keep it a cool ride...Far out man!

Below the computer and to the right of that, the bluetooth mp3 player pouch.

The installed thumb friction shifter works good, rear brake is working good for stopping power.

Next progress when battery has been charged and mounted. Probably about a week, possibly test rides and maybe a video in a few weeks. Stay safe everyone!

Need your guys help. Controller battery wires red and black use a bullet connector. The battery is an xt60 connector. Is there a right adapter to plug and play this?
