Gold E-Krate first project build.

Yeah, next to impossible getting the spring bolted in again. I am going to look and see if there is a small spring compressor. If not, then maybe a longer bolt, just need to get a thread or two started and then I can get it back together again, rather quickly.
Do ya have a valve compressor for engines? That might work.

No, I don't. It's that spring, either that or there are two always around this potentially. Turn the tube bracket upside down, or pickup a slightly longer springer bolt, repaint it gold and use that. I do prefer to use this one though. And just when I got the derailleur anchor screw installed after drilling the hole for it, then tuned the derailleur again to shift properly and boom, this happens. The nice thing is that I got a chance to ride a Krate at least 228 miles.

I plan to rebuild this maybe next year with a 29" front fork which will raise it up higher. I'll spray paint the parts gold first, then pull the rear motor and go with a mid drive setup, installing a standard rear wheel with setup for a disc brake as well as a 5 speed cassette and a Schwinn type rear derailleur and finally a Peddalchopper 5 speed stick shift also colored in gold on the shaft. The current motor can move this lightweight bike to nearly 60mph, way way way too fast. I have already set it down to around 24 mph max. Cruises just fine.

a small spring compressor.
I have had small springs that needed to be compressed to go into really tight places but couldn't find a real compressor, so what I did was take some zip ties and compressed the spring with those, got it into place and was able to simply snip the zip ties using an Xacto knife and just pulled them out using either my fingers or long needle nose pliers.

Have no idea if this is helpful in your situation but hopefully it might be.

Your gonna have more "gold" than Donald Trump, he even has a gold toilet or two...lol...lol.

That's what I do for putting valves in flatheads. Works decent.

The bike is back together. Had to use a bit of wd40 with the shim, however neck now still moves slightly even though all the way cranked down...YIKES. Steer right and go left...CRASH!!!
