Well finally pulled the trigger after reading up on it and watching youtubes bought the bafang bbs02 also a 52 volt downtube battery. Waiting for the motor to get here I'll be likely building it this week converting my commuter. First time doing this should be fun amd interesting providing goes smooth. I'll post pics after she's built up

Thanks for the info. What size sockets?
The hand wrench (will not come with the motor) is "ok" for tightening the outside cover ring, but the main nut needs to have 70 (or more) lbs. of torque applied to stay secure. Buy or borrow a torque wrench. https://lunacycle.com/bafang-mid-drive-installation-tool-kit/ Watch several different youtube vids on installation... 3 or 4 different individuals at least. If the person is using a hand wrench to mount the motor move on, they aren't doing it right. Remember that a straight chain line is very important. The motor can be shimmed along with most tensioners to dial it in. The wiring harness comes out of the attached controller module and will follow the frame up. For protection, I covered mine with glued shrink tubing from the motor all the way up to the battery connection with the speed sensor wire coming out at the appropriate spot. I suggest the 500C input control... your motor will come with one but it will be huge. Don't worry about changing the programming on the motor, it will be just fine the way it is.

Are you getting a hub motor or a mid-drive? I have both and prefer the hub motors.
