alright well after mounting my engine to my 26" wheel el cheapo walmart mountain bike I went...offroading lol.

now I know that after past experience on good high speed downhill offroadings that a normal bike wheel "should" be able to do a high speed dirt slide and take the abuse...

well, my rear wheel didnt like it and bent pretty good on me

what should I look for in a rear wheel that I can abuse??

a supporter of out local bicycle shop

go to a bike shop and get a good downhill wheel set
those things are designed to be abused

once bicycle shop owner Mountainman agrees with this message

plus - I have seen many heavy duty wheels mentioned here on site

saw one here the other day -- sorry -- forgot which thread
it had 10 gage spokes
NOW THAT'S A WHEEL !!!

ride that thing

Get yourself a decent dual wall rim, with a decent hub (novatech/shimano etc not quando - yuk) and heavy spokes.

google Velocity / heavy metal, you'll get lots of distributor matches. i'm sure i just saw them lately for around $250.00 foro the pair.

which unfortunately is double what i just gave for a pair of new wheels with shimano disk hubs, stainless spokes and Big Mammoth Fat rims
