Well having my first build running for almost a couple of weeks now I have had a major hiccup.
I was doing my usual shakedown run as part of breaking the motor in and crunch kapow.

My gearing made a horrible noise and a piece of my housing came off.

Anyway pictures paints a thousand words.
Any input would be good.

Question I have are:

Are Grubee Starfires a good engine?

Anyone else had this problem before?

Does anyone have any recommendation to fix or to get a better engine?

I would like to stick with 58cc.

looks like a manufacturing defect when the clutch bearings race assembly was pressed in. the bearings spilled out, wobbled the clutch drive gear plate which in turn cracked the housing. make the vendor send you a new engine. correct me if i'm wrong but the end user is given 90 days warranty on a Grubee. this should never have happened on a Grubee kit during break-in procedure. mine came out after 1300 miles. they are usually pressed in fairly tight on a Grubee kit.

Thankyou so much mate...

Thats good info.
Yeh I am pretty sure it is 90 Days.
I installed the kit without too many delays as to keep in the 90 days should anything happen.

Cheers again CPUAID....

This site is excellent.
