Gx160 problems

But first, I'd make sure it's not a simple fix.

My advice would be to drain the oil, inspecting it for metal particles.

Then I'd pull the side cover, cleaning the crankcase and inspecting further.

Then fill engine with new oil and start it.

And pray.

Most of the time those motors are used as utility motors, so stationary applications. When you use one for motion applications and you go around a curve the oil slushes to one side activating the low oil sensor which cuts out the motor. This can be very dangerous if you need power at that time and have none because the switch cut shut it down.

In my case, I'm leaving my oil sensor in.

I have an electric starter.

If my engine stalls, my starter switch is on my handlebars.

If my bike lays down, I'd thank my oil sensor for killing my engine.

I can do it myself that wou lmk d b easy I just dont know what I need to buy to get it done

First try to do the simple fox.

If that fails, remove the piston and rod assembly.

Check for obvious damage to piston and rod bearings.

Remove the crank.

Check for bearing and journal damage.

Using Honda manual and micrometer, check for measurements.

I'd suggest you just take your engine to the shop for an estimate.

If you have to ask what you need, ths job mght be beyond your skills.

Or u could try Youtube for DIY assistance.

Do the inspection first. It could be the gear for the gov is still in there, and has fell out, they're made of plastic.
Pull the head off and check the bore for any gouges and go from there. Then the side cover and clean inside.

What would I need to get to rebuild it

You don't need to actually wash it out if you don't find any grounded up matter in there. Wash it out with lots of dish soap and warm water, then rinse it with hot water. Once dry, re-oil everything liberally.
