Gx160 problems

Pull the valve cover.

Turn the crank, to ensure the valvetrain is opening and closing properly.

After reinstalling the valve cover, remove everything from the shaft and start the engine.

If you can, remove the pull start and housing, and start it with a pull rope.

Can you post a video, to show what your engine sounds like?
 
That all sounds like clutch noise, the engine itself sounds good. If you ride it and open up the throttle some, how does it sound?
 
Based on all the belt wear (rubber everywhere on the plate and sheaves) I think it's geared too low, it stays in the adjustment range for far too long. Cheap cvts chatter hard while they adjust ratios.
