Has anyone ever seen this weird factory exist port ?

Angled carbs so float is level, looks like a lot better engine,. Can you still by these engines? I know the little R/C engine really rev............Curt
There are some still around here in N.A. but will be used and hard as heck to find parts for if needed,I would think they will become more of a collectors item than usable.

I had a Kawasaki KX125 in the 70's, had a rotary valve induction a large disk on the right spinning with the crank, window cut in the disk and the carb was mounted on the side facing straight in as the 2stroke GP bikes of the day, all very large ports, my impression was that this engine is breathing through a hole or slot in the crank.

It is there is a window in the crank that exposses the bore through middle of crank into the center of case betwwen the weights, the spiral windage cut in that bore aids in pulling the intake charge and keeping it moving quickly.

Thanks for clearing that up, so this engine has a port in the fly wheel of the crank pulling the charge straight through to the rod.

This is an R/C model plane engine 2 stroke glow type as most are crank induction it's the same concept,This one is .61 of a cubic inch or around 8-9 cc (wow I forgot lol) anyway it produces just over 2 hp at 16,000 rpm and works awesome. The car engines for R/C same style induction are crazy strong I've made a 3.5cc or .21 ci engine produce 3.25 hp loaded at 32,000 rpm and ran it for a whole race series in witch I high pointed the series set two national records and a I.M.P.B.A national title.

The only model airplane engines I've seen had an open ended crank, supported on one bearing and shaft that passed through the case and held the prop.

yep. this system is fundamentally no different from case reed induction, just uses a different mechanism to close the ports.

You know you really make me jealous sometimes.

To bad someone don't bring one back to life and make them again, but EPA might not approve.................Curt
