ITS GOOD TO BE BACK, hope everyone on here is doing well. I recently got my ride up and running again, I'll get into more detail on another posting. Probably a mini build thread of all my updated stuff, trials and tribulations, and even a new friend or two!

Always fun to get back into a hobby. I like the blue on that bike.
Yes it is! I'm reliving the memories as I sit here typing, not to mention all afternoon whole riding!

Thank you. Originally it had white alloy wheels, and organelles accents. Almost like the gulf racing scheme, but after doing some digging, those time bombs (the wheels) had to go

I like the retention of the chain guard. Usually it doesn't fit. But, where are your rear brakes? I don't see a disc caliper, rim brakes or even a reaction arm of a coaster brake.

Speaking of the rear wheel, those quick release wheels are also a ticking time bomb.

So I've been told. Is it that the thumb lever can get snagged and flipped? Or is strength a concern? They make allen-headed cap screws to replace the flippers with, could go that route. If the skewer wheel in general is bad tho, I'm here to listen

Does anyone wanna buy me some genesis wheels?😂😂

Thanks! That chain guard was the first 'thing' I ever fabricated from scratch, I've since moved onwards and upwards with car projects and other stuff, but you gotta start somewhere!

It's just 3/16 abs plastic I heated up, bent, and painted. Uses the factory extended stud on the clutch cover, and 2 zip ties on the seatstay

No rear brakes! Just the front. It's a dual piston hydralic (Clark's m2) with a 180mm rotor. I have a post to ISO adapter coming so I can run a 220mm rotor in the front.
You'd be surprised how many people gawk or tense up at my lack of a rear brake, but I've never had too many issues. Mind you, I'm NOT using it on gravel or loose terrain, she's a pavement princess😂 cheers

It's mostly a strength concern. I'm not sure if cap heads would be much safer. I would just swap the scure axle for a solid cromolly axle.

Makes sense, that will be the next thing I do. Maybe combined with the brake upgrade.
I'm trying to find a wheelset with some WIDE rim bands, there's a lot of 1.25 and some 1.5 wide rims. But I wanna track down the 2" wide hoops I know they used to make. So many options at the end of the day, just gotta start digging out of my pockets
