Hello after 7 years//reviving my build

It's mostly a strength concern. I'm not sure if cap heads would be much safer. I would just swap the scure axle for a solid cromolly axle.
I should be able to rebuild the hubs with standard axles? I figure the hubs are mass produced so parts should swap?,or is it not worth the energy?

Makes sense, that will be the next thing I do. Maybe combined with the brake upgrade.
I'm trying to find a wheelset with some WIDE rim bands, there's a lot of 1.25 and some 1.5 wide rims. But I wanna track down the 2" wide hoops I know they used to make. So many options at the end of the day, just gotta start digging out of my pockets
Here's the set I have, they are decently wide. They need some redishing in the rear to be centered in the dropouts, but worth it for the price. They are sealed bearing, pretty heavy duty, and have disc break mounts.

Thanks for the rec! I think I'll pick them up. One of my buddies from high school has a wheel stand. And has the hands for truing the wheels. I just could never get it..anyways. WE GOT BIGGA POBEMS lmao

Mine I got pretty true, but the spoke tension is off. I'm gonna unbolt the sprocket and take them to a bike shop to have them tension the spokes.

Where you just moved to on the Kentucky/Tennessee border spoke tension is just like tuning banjo strings to them...lol...lol.

Your bike will be going down the road strumming "My Fat Baby Loves to Eat"...lol...lol.

So. I did a thing.
Amazon minarelli !!!
First impressions: woah! This thing's cast iron?! And the ring gaps look like something that make sense?!?

I've seen some mixed reviews about them on here, but from what ive come to learn, you're wrong no matter what you do LOL

I have about 40 miles on it so far, running it at like 18 - 1 on full rich for the first couple gallons. It seems to have more bottom end than the old zeda jug, maybe it's the bigger induction, transfers, or just the extra 3ccs- not sure. Definitely lacking on the top end, but I did NOT gasket match anything like I should have, I was just curious to see if it worked. Right now I have a 10 36 gear ratio, and I'm locked in at 41mph. The ignition seems like it just cuts?!?!?! Anyone ever heard of this?? That's kinda why I got the bigger pipe and carb... I've got 2 separate engines that are different in design, and they both cut at the same rpm? Is there a cutoff in the factory cdi? Is it a 6volt problem?? Thanks!

I mean to say my old top end cylinder cut out at precisely the same speed. Same thing when I had the cdhpower exhaust, (MZ miami pipe now) and when I had the 30 dollar performance carb from bikeberry

It's GOTTA be the spark???

What RPM does it cut out at? is it a hard cut, like hitting a wall, or does it start to break up and lose power over a range of rpm?

Finally, I sprung for some cheap new tires, I'll get those swapped out soon. But my old tires were a few years old, cracked, and bald. Also check out this BiT...N 220 magura rotor I got. She will lift the rear wheel with the clarks 2 piston I have..

Any recs for a nice caliper to match?

I'll get those wheels you all recommended me sooner. But I have another bike I may want to fix up with a 212.... that's what came on the frame anyway..
