So, I'm a newbie from Fort Collins, Colorado...
I've been "lurking" for a month or two and I'm ready to begin my first build this weekend... Does anyone have any tips for my first build?
I have a 70cc from the infamous "boygofast" and I'll be putting it on an ols Schwinn Cruiser with a coaster brake.
    Here is a list of pre build essentials I've complied from my lurking;
Please feel free to add or subtract from this if your experience deems so!

-One 8mm Silicone spark plug wire.
-New Plug; NGK B5HS (preferred), or Champion L86C, or Autolite 4093 or 425
-A tube of Ultra Grey RTV Silicone
-A tube of Medium strength BLUE threadlocker.
-A small amount of Dielectric Spark Plug grease that locks out moisture and prevents arching.
-small self tapping screw for "anti twist" mod on rear tensioner
-$9 bike computer from Wally World to use as spedo and odometer
-Zip ties for spoke crossing and for wires and cables
-Liquid electrical tape (follow directions on can) for weather proofing electrical connections

I think this is all I have for now I'll be starting my build on sat 8.30

Any other "need to know" tips please post here

Looks like you're about ready. Have some soothing beverages handy.

Also, consider adding a front brake.

    And, welcome!

Your list needs to include replacing all nuts and bolts and other stuff mentioned. You can skip of the advanced stuff but be warned, these are common issues with engines.

Oh, if you just use a coaster brake, can you please get a life insurance policy ( I will pay for it) and list me as your main beneficiary?

Coaster brakes do fail and you need a backup.

WOW... Sounds like someone is a "half empty" kinda guy! Nothing like INTIMIDATING a newbie!! you've had some horrible luck with these engines!! My faith lies in higher powers, I'll take appropriate steps to ensure proper safety and reliability but the rest is out of my hands!
How do you still enjoy this hobby with the obvious negative emotions you have towards these kits?

DO NOT over tighten the bolts. They strip and break just looking at them. I have bought several motors and one happened to be from BOYGOFAST. You should be alright, I had a couple of issues and he was of little help. If you need bolts ACE Hardware has a huge selection. Good Luck
