Hello from Oregon

Nothing like that, a coaster brake is for sloooow maneuvering as in pedal bike. If you add an engine to it, it overheats and seizes up. The rear wheel will stop all of a sudden sending the rider into a low altitude orbit. Where he lands no one knows. I was lucky, it was the only bit of grassy ditch around here that I landed in.
Thanks, last thing I need is to Superman into the highway. Looks like I'll be building a wheel soon too 👍

If you are feeling particularly thrifty ie cheap you can take the wedges out of it so it can't lock but that is a poor solution.
As everyone says, get a new wheel.

Yep, that would just eliminate rear brakes entirely...no thanks. Guess I could do rear discs also, with an adapter. Band brakes wouldn't have that problem, right?
You can do it 73Biker, we have faith in you Superman...lol...lol.
True, the cars would just crumple on me, with my perfect physique, lmfao.

You could also just get rid of spoked wheels altogether since the ones that usual come from Walmart, etc, have rims that do not stand up well for regular road use, always need to be trued, spoke adjustments, as well as constantly having to snug up the caged wheel bearings and this is not even mentioning the problem of coaster brakes...lol.

I eliminated the entire problem on mine years ago and just went with mag wheels that actually come with the disk brakes and calipers as well as the 36 tooth chrome sprocket which is actually much better made then the sprockets that come with the motor kits.

It even helped in allowing me to get rid of the chain tensioner

Here is mine in pics below.

Sweet ride man! I was reading up on your build a bit, and yours is a true heavy duti, lol. I can't imagine pedaling it around without power from the engine. The mag wheels are no doubt one of the smarter ways to go, just not sure they'd fit the look I'm after. I may re-lace the rear only with 10?ga spokes, like the heavy duti, and just go with caliper brakes like robe suggested. Wally world doesn't sell real bikes imo, just disposable cr@p. I have just one aluminum framed bike, only because it was inherited. The rest are Japanese steel for road bikes, American for cruisers and mtb.

The quickest way to be pulled is not obeying all traffic laws and exceeding the maximum speed limit allowed for these vehicles.
In Oregon: 35 cc, place to put feet, lighting if used after dark, helmet required, not able to exceed 24 mph on level ground, speed limit 15 mph. I can see getting ticketed by a radar cop for going 17 mph!

Mine is similar... But way better than Damien's lol

(Sadly she's just a garage decoration right now. I moved and now I live off a windy highway that people drive stupid on, so I feel it's not safe to ride. Plus I have a little buttoning up to do)
