2nd time trying to post, let's hope this one works out!
About my project;
This will be my first build! I haven't had a tool in my hand for 30+ years.
I live in a "dry heat" and temps will get 115 degrees in the summer. I have an engine only (no kit). I have Chinese bicycle that is ferrous (not aluminum). It has a pretty bad paint (not powder coat) finish. I think that could be an advantage if I want powered coat. media blasting should be cheaper for a bad paint job. I don't want the motorcycle look of the standard tank, I'll post ideas below. Also want to lower the CG as much as possible, so I'll mount the tank as low as I think I can get away with. I intend to have as many mounts as possible custom welded for the cool factor. Please comment about "hard mounts" it could add air bubbles into the fuel.
Here is a list of what I think I should do. Please respond to as many or as few as you like. I'll review the findings and re-post the road I intend to take.
Thanks in advance!
1) This spring tensioner http://www.ebay.com/itm/49-66-80cc-...tDomain_0&var=&hash=item2a3020ccd1&rmvSB=true I'd really like a cool looking aluminum tensioner mounted somewhere on the travel arm. Cool looking aluminum? It will be custom welded (is there a theme here)
2) Bering's from here http://juicemotoparts.com/products/v2-high-performance-bronze-wrist-pin-bushing.html
3) as well as http://juicemotoparts.com/products/skf-6202-2rs-c3-bearings-high-quality-crank-clutch-bearings.html
4) A true delardo carb https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAyw5gKQJM8
5) A hub "kit" I measured the hub at a circumference of 1.1... (after dividing by cherry pi) Need link!
6) 44 tooth sprocket (link please)
7) This CDI http://www.motoredbikes.com/showthread.php?40822-Jaguar-CDI-Ignition
8) Fuel Tank http://www.ebay.com/itm/25cc-33cc-3...070?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2585b789e6 or http://www.ebay.com/itm/FUEL-TANK-F...159?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item233097500f or if you have a better idea?? the intent here is to have something that doesn't look like a motorcycle and It will have custom welded mounting
9) Motormounts Would like a custom look aluminum mount that will be welded to the frame (minimize vibration) Given that, do I still want rubber isolation? all recommendations welcome!
10) Ideas for the petcock and where to mount it (custom welding) really want a nice visual
11) A good source for a balanced crank (juice doesn't list one)
12) Copper head gasket (for heat transfer) http://juicemotoparts.com/products/copper-head-gasket-for-motorized-bicycle.html
13) Would porting be a good choice?
14) Lightened and "ported" piston?
15) My bike has a 7 speed rear detailer. Shifting is on the right side twist. What's my best option for throttle. I believe it's possible to have it also on the right side. Is this the best approach? What's the best option for a good looking throttle assembly (twist grip, cable...)
16) Should I hard mount the carb? (custom weld) or does it need isolation. Best practice?
I'm 100% sure there are things I missed, no opinions are bad.
Thanks!
