Hi, Y'all. By way of introduction, I'm a 55 year old engineer who has been riding non-powered bikes for a year now. Presently I have two bikes in service - a Surly Long Haul Trucker and a Trek 820 mountain bike. I usually ride anywhere from about 10 miles at a time, up to about 30 or more on the Trucker.

Having become aware of motorized bikes, I am really hankering after building one as a hobby. I envision a "board track" type of bike - something like a 26" cruiser with a springer front end, and a Brooks honey-brown hairpin saddle, chrome fenders, front drum and rear coaster brake, etc. I'm thinking regular cruiser bike handlebars flipped upside-down would look cool - I really don't mind the leaning-forward stance.

Right now I'm reading the various forums, and may be posting some tech questions.

    Great site!
