HELP: 4-stroke 49cc (142F motor) turns off when choke is open

I've had year old e-free gas that's fired up my lawn equipment with no issue. I've used 6 month old ethanol gas and my lawn equipment sounded horrible. So e-free gas does have a good shelf life.
My mini bike somehow fired up and burnt a gallon of ethanol gas while I worked on getting the carb cleaned out. I was very very surprised. The gas that was in it sat in the tank under a tarp for a year.

Using treatments and not allowing it to sit for long periods of time only delays the enviable. Though it'll take longer eventually ethanol fuel is going to cause carburetor issues.
A small amount of MMO or Marine Stabil actually helps combat the contact corrosion that one can see from oxygenated fuels like ethanol. I do agree that avoiding the use of it is ideal, but not everybody has that luxury.

In my small town, when I first moved here no place sold e-free gas. Regardless of what I did eventually carburetor issues happened. At best all I could do is slow it down from happening. To my good fortune 3 of the 4 gas stations now sell e-free gas, here in my town.

I personally don't like the use of ethanol fuel in anything that doesn't get used at least every other day. I've seen some really gummed up fuel systems from ethonal fuel. I helped my grandma with her fourwheeler that had sat with ethonal fuel in it for a few months, and the whole bottom of the gas tank, carburetor, and fuel lines were gummed up with a nasty green sludge from the ethanol beginning to solidify. It's a pain to clean a fuel system out from that, and it destroyed all the rubber seals and even seized up the choke plunger, causing a hard start even before it got gummed up.
