Anyone know the measurements ..length and ID of the head tube of a schwinn Panther?
I am considering telescopic ( moped ) forks as my stock girder is just too bent to straighten and go fast safely
Anyone have a great Idea? not into springers

Probably 32.5mm id by 5.38” long with around 6.2 inch headset install height. Headset. I run a moped fork myself. Just have to grind down the crown nut to fit over the steerer or use the moped headset parts too.

Stock girder? Looks more like aluminum flat bar. I can see why it bent. Can't go fast safely on that, or go safely at all.
Good Idea switching to a stronger front end.
I would keep the vintage style and go with a front end like this. Monarch style .

Yup the flat bar is just to find a straight line in the seventy years of kids throwing it off barn roofs. I am going with a set of moped forks. I had springer front ends on many motorcycles. I hate the hop.

Digital calipers aren't that pricey, and would give you a better idea at the I.D. size. Given the age of the bike, the head tube could be wallowed out.

I've seen this before with really old Schwinn cruisers, with the Ashtabula fork that the previous owner liked to curb jump.

I got a Sçwhinn Panther it's an old bike suppose to be worth 3 to $10,000 value my serial numbers begin in the 007 meaning about the first few.
