Hi. I have a 31cc MTD weed eater that has insane compression compared to most others. Since I can't keep the pull start, do you think the drive roller will sli when i pedal start it?

P.S. Does FD ruin engine bearings? It ruined the electric motor bearings in my scooter.

The tension is between the tire and the roller not the tire and the engine. Theres a clutch between them. Why can't you keep the pull start?

Yup. no clutch. I can't keep the recoil because it is on the front of the engine, where I need to hack apart.

Specifically to your questions, the roller shouldn't slip if properly adjusted.

To the second part, most of the FD kit makers have devised methods of relieving stress on the engine crank bearing by utilizing load bearings on the roller itself.
