Hey there, My name is Albie, I'm From Wiltshire in England and I've just joined the forum.

A little while back I built a two stroke from a scrap mountain bike with no brakes and a cheap 60cc Amazon engine kit. I didn't build it properly and it was meant as a beater, it has since been abused and thrown in a skip.

A month ago I purchased a stage 3 BBR tuning 66/80cc engine for $580 USD (including over $300 postage and customs charges - although the CNC cylinder head was forgotten in my package and has now been sent separately so I bet I will have to pay more customs charges). Anyway, after a long wait it has arrived and I've began working on it properly.

So far, I've fully disassembled the engine and drilled a hole into either side of my crank - I found a video stating that the position and size/depth of the holes I drilled would provide perfect balance, (however sceptical I am of this bold claim, the balance is definitely improved), I have also made wooden jaws for my vice to hold the cylinder for porting.

The engine is going on a 27.5" Snap On Klunker Bike, It was given away by Snap On as a competition prize and then I bought it from someone on Facebook, It's a great combination between a mountain bike, beach cruiser and BMX, I've Fitted a new saddle, new pedals and new grips along with a thumb throttle for the engine.

So far, I'm really enjoying the project and I'm glad to have found this forum for tips and inspiration.

The account is called RoniTheHedgehog because my girlfriends childhood pet, Ronnie passed away this year so I thought I would name the bike Roni in his memory: The Hedgehog part is because people call motorbikes Hogs and a hedgehog is smaller. The name is going to be painted on the fuel tank when she's finished.

For those who are interested, here are some pictures of my progress and my lovely shed. :)

I see the book and candle, so where is the bell???...lol...Your gonna need all 3 of them when you set your mind to working on these evil little bikes of ours Albie...lol...lol.

Bell, Book, and Candle...lol...lol.
The phrase "bell, book, and candle" refers to a Latin Christian method of excommunication by anathema, imposed on a person who had committed an exceptionally grievous sin. Evidently introduced by Pope Zachary around the middle of the 8th century, the rite was once used by the Latin Church.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you WAY overpaid for that engine. You would have been better off ordering your parts off Ali express. But it's a workable engine, definitely not the worst you could have bought. I like the bike you chose, however I would swap out the handle bars for a wide beach cruiser set. They are much more comfortable and give for an upright seating position with a relaxed posture.

The engine itself was only 200. I bought from a reputable American website so postage was a lot though, and I was fairly aware that I would be overpaying for the sake of reliability. Shame that the customs charges surprised me extra fees too though

To clarify: not engine reliability but reliability of postage and returns refunds etc.

Bike berry is about middle of the line with reputation here in the States. Half of what they sell is garbage, and the other half is alright. They don't have good customer service and they have no warranty. But like I said, it's not the worst you could have gotten

Ok thanks, from the uk it seemed as though bike berry was top, would you recommend any other better sites, as I still have a few parts I need.
