Hokey Smokes Bullwinkle, I just bought a Zeda 80!

Now why didn't I think of that :-o . I just ordered a coil from an Amazon seller to replace the one I took out of my other engine.
Cisco...Don't forget to call bicycle-engines.com, where you bought the Zeda kit from to get that coil replaced free of charge under your warranty today...DAMIEN

Buying an inner tube might be cheaper than sheets of rubber. Thorn resistant tubes are about 3/16ths thick at least.

You're probably right, but I already ordered a pack of three 6x6 inch sheets of 1/16th inch neoprene. I don't think anything thicker would work with the front mount on the Murry frame. I can also use it re-work the rear mount of my new engine on the Timberline frame. The Flex Tape idea wasn't so great :~\

The rubber matting arrived. This is nice material, flexible but fairly hard, and cuts easily. The front mount was a tight fit. I trimmed a bit that had slipped out. The rear mount fit well. It wasn't too hard to find this on Amazon. Good stuff ;-)

I got a new coil and CDI kit. The coil measured 325 ohms. My other (good) coil measures 355 ohms (perhaps more windings). I got the clutch, throttle, 44T sprocket, chain and tensioner installed this weekend. I'm still breaking in my Zeda 80 on the Timberline frame. I didn't want my PK80 to sit on a shelf, so I've been working on getting it set up on this Murry frame. I really like these old Schwinn handle bars on this bike ;-)

Be sure to also periodically check the head nuts/bolt torque for the first few hundred miles, doing so in a criss cross fashion...it should be 12 foot pds, or if your using a torque wrench in inch pounds that will be 144 inch pounds...it will eventually settle in for you as mine did on my Zeda 80...Use a torque wrench if you do not have an adequate "feel" for this as a seasoned mechanic would, because you do not want to overtighten these head nuts/bolts...DAMIEN

144 inch pounds.
Yes I do have a 1/4 drive torque wrench and a 13mm deep socket. I check the head nuts every time after the engine cools. They seem to have settled in pretty well. I am using tall acorn nuts with 10 threads (12.5mm) and two flat washers and a lock washer, leaving approx. 9-10mm of threaded stud above the washer stack. I haven't changed the position of the carburetor needle yet (referring to the picture earlier in this post) but I will raise the clip to lean the fuel before the next ride. It really is running too rich.
