Exhaust Hole in Muffler

Hello,
The other day the bike started making a rickety sound, and when i figured out it was only when the engine was engaged, i checked it out. It ends up the seal between the muffler and the engine had basically deteriorated, and the bottom of it fell off. So half the exhaust was not going through the muffler causing the sound. I made a better seal with a rubber gasket material, and it has improved, but there is still some exhaust coming out before the muffler, right from the engine. Does anyone have any better ideas for materials for making a new seal??
Or where they sell them? THanks!

you might look into getting a tuned pipe made. I need a new exhaust as well. Thatsdax.com has them for $20 (in the accessories page). But obviously if I could get a tuned one that is made for max hp at the rpm I want, I would prefer that. I have no idea where to find a tuned pipe though :-(
