Well, i recently bought 2 if these honda engines. I bought them because well, at 10$ a piece i couldn't resist!
one has a pretty big crack in the case. So ill be keeping that one (cant justify selling it, as i dont want to disappoint my customers by selling half ass products) so jb weld might be all i need!

But if i just add a normal clutch to it, i think ill be able to fit it on a bike normally and ill just use a rope start. These things are about as wide as a torque converter so no recoil start for me. (As I dont think wide cranks will clear it with the recoil start) only problem i see with this is the clutch will probably get a really light spring as the PTO rpm is only 600. And most clutches need atleast 1500 to engage.

Here are some pictures of the one im keeping.
But i figured itll be a good experiment. Might be a viable option as ive seen knock offs on ebay for about 150$ new.
Will be keeping the governor in this engine as i might want to convert it to a 3/4in shaft and use it on my pressure washer if the bike build fails

Looks extremely similar to the gx160's we use at my work to turn pumps and agitators. They are awesome. They always run. New ones can have electric start and run $400 but they always start so easy on the first pull i always kind of thought electric start was a waste on an engine this small.

Yea, i bought them from the owner of a concrete business. The one with the cracked case was siezed up. Ended putting some Marvel in it and it broke free!! Had to tape up the coil and put a new oil pressure sending unit in it.
I think contractors are lulled into thinking its easier to get a electric start for eaiser operation, same for ppeople who are buying them to repower equipment

It Runs pretty good now!
