What is even more messed up is he slalomed thru three lead cars into the crowd of bikers, from what I've read. Apparently this was a sanctioned, police escorted community bke rally, and he was dodging cop cars.
When I was a kid, a drunk driver came off the road in Mulino, Oregon, plowed through a bunch of boy scouts gathered in the early morning to go on an overnite camping trip. Hospitalized sixteen, killed three of them. He got a 30 year sentence for vehicular manslaughter and drunk driving, got paroled after 11 years. Two days after his release, he disappeared. They found his pickup, where someone forced it off a back road, but they never found him. I don't think the cops looked too hard - one of the boys he killed was the only child of a county sheriffs deputy.
