This seems to be the best one to get, but I am not super handy. It looks pretty easy. I have a raliegh m30 (old mt bike). I think I have to replace the axel first. Is this all a huge job?

Complete 4-Stroke Mounting Kit plus Engine
4-Stroke Engine $609.00 plus $20.00 s & h = $629.00

it should take less than an hour after you open the box. and if you have a question call them, they are great. that motor is bulletproof.

changing the axle may be a hassle if you're inexperienced...i assume you have a quick-release? feel free to PM me if i can be any help.

I have the two stroke version of that - as I recall changing the axle on my old mtb was a case of remove wheel - pull QR skewer out of hub and replace with bar axle. Its not a massive job but you should be careful that you get the sheave aligned properly and do everything methodically - other than that these are probably the easiest engines to get up and running...

good luck with it

The M30 is a good cromoly frame...good candidate for a gebe kit but you'll do well to get a wheel w/12ga spokes. Gebe sells a good velocity wheel w/105 or 12ga spokes.

I decided that that M30 is not in good enough shape (and the rear forks are to close together). If I were to buy a bike new for the gebe kit, what would you suggest (inexpensive but still good).

good bike

My choice was a full susp mongoose from Wal Mart. I paid $150.00
I replaced the rear wheel with a velocity 12gage wheel from GEBE. The bike is great and IMHO full susp is the only way to go:cool:

I also ordered the 12 g wheel from GEBE and I should be getting the kit this week. I will be putting it on a "Motiv" mt bike.
