How many miles on your bike?

Just wondering how reliable/unreliable everyone's bikes have been and how many miles you have on the bike. I have about 3100 miles and about 200 hours on my friction drive GX50 Kent Bayside and I haven't really had any "repairs" other than normal maintenance. 3k miles does not sound like a lot though and I'm sure some here have 10k+ miles on their rides. So far I have:

-Adjusted the valves once
-Changed the clutch once
-Changed the oil and air filter every 35 hours
-Replaced both tires once
-Replaced the brake pads once
- Pulled apart and greased the front and rear wheel bearings once

I have just over 500 on my BT80. My new bike has 28 miles on it. I finished it just before winter.

Alittle over 3k on this ld100! Rides about 30 miles per day in the the 7k to 9k rpm range (35 to 50mph). In everything from 20° weather to 90°+. Long distances,stop and go,big hills... she eats it all. Considered the pinnacle of "severe duty" lol
. All mileage counted on the same top end. After tragic case crack(casting flaw) she was transplanted and now crossing 4.5k miles. Aside from general wear and tear flawless. Rear wheel and chain swapped every 6 months ish for safety. Very reliable,fast and a simple build. Runs on 93 ethanol free and 25:1 amsoil dominator (warm months) 32:1 (cold months). 10/10 would recommend to anyone. Total build investment 340$ including bike.

-rear wheel/chain/tensioner pulley(1)
-cdi(2)
-brake pads(once every 2 weeks)(speed lol)
-rear tire(3)
-full 10 min circle check(nightly)
-2 min pre trip (always)
-full inspection and maintenance average 1hr(weekly)

I have MANY bikes and motors. Tried almost every one and every variation of them. Tried 90% of available parts and many frames. This is the one.

Maintenance is the key to long life,

Maintenance schedule
Change oil every 100-150 miles 8 oz
Valve lash check /adjustment every 1k miles
Clean carb every 1k miles
Clean air filter every 1k miles
Clean combustion chamber carbon off every 1k miles
Clean S/P every 1k miles New S/P every 3K miles
Resurface head, clean or replace head gasket every 1k miles
Resurface cyl deck when needed
Clean inspect clutch every 1k miles
Replace clutch shoes est. every 3k miles
Replaced 1 clutch drum @ 15k miles
New Piston & rings every 10k miles
Inspect all bearings maybe replace every 10k miles
Valve Job if needed 10k miles

Original NE-5 Whizzer cyl replaced at 16k miles
Currently using Westman NE-5 cast Iron Cylinder

Replaced 3 cyl heads because of crack damage
Replaced 1 crank @ 7k miles
Replaced defective valve lifters at 1k miles
Replaced 1 carb @ 16k miles

For the first 12 years I rode my Whizzer at least 3k miles per year, I now ride her about 1k miles per year

2005 Whizzer 42,419 miles

2021 Rad Rover E bike 4k miles

2006 Yamaha V Star 250cc had for 1 year put 20k miles

2008 Yamaha V Star Cruiser 1100cc I had for 2 years and put 42k miles on her

2009 Yamaha V Star Cruiser 1100cc I had 12 years and I put 225k miles on her

My new 2022 Harley Heritage Classic 1868cc she now has 50k miles

Total mileage on all my bikes since 2005 is 383k miles


Today I have the E Bike a Whizzer and a Harley
