Can you stop feeding the trolls please?
I like seeing what comes of it.

the 4.8 is best ls crank pair it with some high compression pistons, long rods, and an aluminum block and a good mid ram intake mani, holley 750ish cfm carb and you have rev city v8
it's my favorite by a long shot. 8 grand in a v8? yes please.

i rather like the way Audi and BMW 4 liter 8s rev, i rather like rev happy engines in genral

if you didn't already like the 4.8s enough some blocks can be bored out to 4 inches for 347 cubic inches of rev happy goodness.

not many of them can you can use a bunch of other ls parts to make a 350 that revs to 8 and have infinite turbo potential, a 6.2 block has the 4 in bore and the 7.4 rods have the length to mke the compression ratio not super low

on topic I haven't finished mine yet I am pushing $800 on my bike still need, seat post, saddle, bottom bracket set, crank and ring gear, engine and drive chains. Last bits are things that I want to figure out to add such as fenders and maybe a rear rack with a auxiliary fuel tank to extend my range. Might have to do that as .6 gallons might not be enough with a hot rodded 66cc 2 stroke.

2005 silverado with a 4.8 and a big nasty cam riding on 33 inch mud tires through a 4.10 spool. I don't expect good fuel economy out of it.
rofl @ 10 miles a gallon...and btw I easy get 100 miles a gallon, you just don't know how to build...n00b

10 mpg out of a fuel injected 4.8 with overdrive with 33" tires?

Somethings wrong. My '82 F150 with a 302 that's 5.0L for you litre people with 31x10.50 tires and a 2.75:1 factory ring gear in the factory 9" rear with a heavy C6 transmission gets 13 mpg city. Could get 15 city if I upped the gears. Hell my '78 XR7 with a 351W 5.8L carbed with a FMX trans (3spd auto) with 2.50:1 axle with a 9" rear was getting me 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway.

If you are getting 10mpg with fuel injection then you need to just get away from the car hobby lol.

You get a hundred miles to the Gallon and know so well about building yet you asked our advice on what oil to break in with, something about yer brain seems a bit askew bud..

the 4.10 rear end pretty much completely defeats overdrive. couple that with the fact that it's got a comp xer281hr cam, all the extra drag from the spool, and has 350,000 miles on it I'm lucky I'm getting double digits. that's city mileage anyway, combined is more like 12.

it's not hard to get 18 mpg with a 2.50 rear end, especially when you weigh half a ton less and don't have the aerodynamics of a truck.

keep in mind with your 2.75:1 rear end in the f150 you're spinning 2500 rpm to my 3750 rpm at the same speed.
