How to get the big bevel gear out?

I understand using the gear remover tool, that's not the problem.

I took channel locks and held two of the pegs, took a 19mm socket and this thing will not budge. Is there a secret to making it come off easier? I don't want to use an impact and possibly damage any threads in the process.

No secrets, sometimes they're just tight. I used a breaker bar on my phantom engine. Try not to bend those little studs too much.

I used a breaker bar, and it still wouldn't budge.

If the threads on the puller are bottomed out, you can use an impact.
