how well do most 4 stroke kits handle the rain? im going to be using my bike to get to and from work daily and dont know if theres a safe indoors spot theyll let me leave the bike in, let alone riding to work in the rain. is there anything i need to do to make sure it doesnt break if riding in the rain or left out there for a work day?

It isn't advisable to drive them in the rain; let alone expose them to 8+ hours of rain. You should consider carrying a tarp/bicycle cover with you. You should also consider making some kind a ferring to encase the motor. This can prevent water getting inside of your carburetor through the air intake. As well as keeping water off your spark plug coil.

If you got side mirrors (which I recommend) saddle bags or baskets, your gonna need a motorcycle cover

When I take my bike with me on RV trips I have to leave her outside. Waterproof motorcycle cover makes sure she stays dry

oh thats a beautiful bike, but the larger concern would be while riding, ive been told there shouldnt be any issue with the air intake and filter getting wet "probably"

Exposed air filters
Rain will get the air filter wet and water will get into the intake causing loss of power or stall the engine

Motorcycles use a Rain Sock it prevents water from getting the air filter wet
I'm sure if you search Motorcycle Rain Socks you'll find one that will fit the air filter on your Motorbike

I don't ride my Motorbike in the rain or go riding if I think it's gonna rain
But with my Harley I sometimes get caught in the rain

Here's a pic of the Rain Sock for my Harley air filter, I'll put it on if it starts raining, It keeps the air filter from getting wet

The other problem I see with the small 4 strokes is moisture buildup on the flywheel eventually causing ignition issues. In a heavy rain storm water will get to the flywheel.

Assuming chain drive and not a V belt sheave or a friction drive it should be fine. Just have to take it easy because there's less traction for braking and accelerating. Cover it if when it has to sit outside, make room to store inside at the house/apartment. About the flywheel, easy in easy out. Water in the airbox will be the primary concern, corrosion of ignition wires terminations will be the second biggest problem.
