HP carb leak and loose throttle

So I had issues with the stock carb always leaking and giving me jerking motions so I bought a high performance carb and it didn't give me any problems. After a while of not riding (about 2 weeks) i finally took her out for a ride. At first she went great, but suddenly I saw the carb covered in fuel and I was getting those jerking motions. My throttle also has a lot of play to it like it feels loose and wobbly but when I twist it to half throttle then it starts actually giving gas. I hope there's an easy solution to this I am a beginner and I am learning little by little I love motorized bikes.
