Edit: I have about $180 total invested in my MB and it rides nicely.

Don't get me wrong here. I am going to build a nice 4-stroke kit in the future.
Either an EZM Q-Matic, Shelly Belly Whisperdrive, or a GEBE. I just do not have that kind of money sitting around right now.

Once I installed my GEBE with a EHO35..... my MB life changed instantly!
I do not think I would ever revisit building another HT setup!

One answer: Shifter kit..nobody has made a shifter kit that works with a 4 stroke that has a reliable and QUIET gearbox...
