Huasheng 142f starts and runs great but dies when hot

Just another thought..........spraying carb cleaner into the carb to check the mixture introduces way too much volume. It works great on a V8 but not so much on a V1. Try to find a small aerosol spray bottle with a finger pump, something like this..........

It will spray a much finer mist of fuel and make checking a lean mixture much easier.
The easiest and safest way is with a spray bottle full of water, just mist around the intake connections, if it stalls, you have found a leak. Any moisture that goes into the engine quickly evaporates.

He'll figure it out. Gas cap could be it not venting on a gravity fed carb.
I'm a she ☺️✌️ these engines aren't just toys for boys...
I'm liking the idea of the gas cap not venting. Start with the simple things first.
I examined my gas cap today and noted it does indeed have a vent. I was able to shine a light into that vent and see it through the bottom of the cap. Additionally, with the tank empty I connected a clean piece of tubing to the petcock and blew into it, and could hear the air coming out of the gas cap vent. So unfortunately I'm not sure that's going to be the cause.

I haven't had enough time yet to really do a full test again, but when I do I will report back.

Run the engine with the cap OFF. If it runs the same not the issue. If it runs good it is. Sorry bout the he/she issue, my bad. You might try disconnecting the fuel line from the carb and seeing the flow out of the tank. Should be a nice steady flow, not a trickle or close to. I'm telling you, that idle jet needs a look at. It causes a lot of issues with rough running and increase in rpm's. Forget the name idle in the name of that jet. It will be the culprit not with just idling issues.
