I have a problem with my Huasheng engine sometime I have a hard time getting it started and then when I open the choke and hit the throttle it will bog down. I saw a blog on this site about removing the idle twist and remove this black round piece from the carb and clean out the jet, I don't that yesterday and it ran good than it started to bog. So today I purchased a new spark plug (NGK CR7HSA, does anyone know what the gap is?) Thanks

Got any pictures?

I will post pictures when I get it put back together, doing some other small projects at the moment

I'm wondering if by me changing air filters could be the reason why this engine is hesitating on acceleration

Hey, I'm posting just to watch this ok? not trying to hyjack someone elses post.

I have a Huasheng engine too and mine went from bogging down to just plain won't start at all.
Already cleaned the carb, even replaced the carb. Replaced the spark plug and this was a few years back, new plug and new carb got it running, rather crappy, not as much power, but running for another season. Last spring, I BARELY was able to get it started ONCE. It hasn't run since.
I've tried adjusting the valves, (though I'm not entirely sure I did that right, still not quite certain about finding top dead center.)
And after nearly breaking my arm pulling the damn thing, and sometimes it pulls back, the handle is already chipped from it snaping out of my hand violently. So... its been collecting dust in the garage ever since.

So.... if this turns out to be a case of this particular motor is crap, I'll just get a new motor. BUT I'd kinda like to know what the issue actually is otherwise it will just happen again right?

Oh also did a compression check. It's fine.

ok I'm having trouble with the engine bogging down when I accelerate so I though I would remove this fancy air filter and put the old one back on just to see want would happen. It did not bog down so I removed the old one put that fancy one back on but I put a piece of air filter in between it and no bogging 😃

Are you able to adjust the carb?

My Tanaka 47R 2-stroke engine was like that.
It was ALWAYS the carb adjustments.
I'd do a baseline adjustment, then fine-tune it while climbing a steep embankment.
