The Hyper Cruiser, the steel frame, is it safe to spread the width of the rear drop-outs from 110mm to 135mm to replace the single speed coaster brake rear wheel with a 7-speed freewheel? I would use the bike for 2-3 thousand miles at speeds no greater than 30 mph, and the Hyper Commuter aluminum frame bicycle, I'm pretty sure a two stroke china girl will fit in the frame, does anyone know if the Bullet Train (BT) 80 electric start start engine kit will fit that frame? Thank you all for your insightful information.

The steel frame is safe to spread. It's called cold setting.

get a threaded rod, nuts and some big washers. go slow, check it a few times

but this way one side can move more than the other. real frame benders are expensive,,

Can't it be done just using your arms? There's a lot of leverage in the length of the stays, we're talking 15mm of spread here.

I'd say don't try it but to get 15mm, you have to go beyond so it relaxes back to the distance you need. the stays are really stiff. you need leverage,,
mine I had to go out to 175 to get 155mm.
could it be done without tools? sure. ppl have done it but won't say hahaha
