I 1/2 inch exhaust for Hausheng 142f

I have a i inch exhaust now and am happy with it, but i know the weld at the flange is getting weak, so im thinking of going to 1 1/2 inch pipe & was wondering if anyone has tried that and if it worked well , as far as back pressure etc. Any responses would be appreciated thanks.
