Does this trike need bearings in the wheels. And anything else I might need to know would be useful thanks

The bearings are in the frame itself, the axle passes through them, as the wheels turn via the keyed axle shaft.

They'll probably need to be replaced, I recently had to do some on a '76 Worksman trike.

Video for example:

Yes the frame and the wheel/rim axle needs/has bearings.

Think of it like a rear end on a truck. If wheel is attached to a drive axle the bearing will be in the end of the axle housing. If the wheel is attached to a non drive axle then the wheel bearings will be housed in the wheel hub.

Ok makes sense now. My old worksman is gonna need some help sooner or later cause I hear the bearings at speed and they are 40 years old. I just hate to order them from worksman because there service dept sucks. I'd better order them soon so I have them by next summer. I ride here over ten months of the year so I hope they last that long. Tom Crisfield Md.

Try Staton for your bearings. Get the ID and OD measurements exact though.
