k I ride my bike everyday to and from work and all around the city and this has never happened to me before.... last week I was on my way home, it was pouring rain, I went to pull in the clutch lever and I got one **** of a shock. Anyone have any ideas? Im curious as to what may have made this happen. Any input is appreciated.

I dont know what happened in your case but I was moving the cdi wires around while the engine was on, and one of them had a little wire showing and I must of touched it. Ow.

sounds like an ignition short - kill switch..

Did you get repeated shocks or one big one..

When my bike had that problem I got snap-snap-snap in time with the ignition firing...

Made perfect sense when I realised that the suspension handlebars were rubber sprung.. lol

Personally, I think that grounding through the frame is a bad idea on several levels and this is one. On my bike, I replaced the kill switch with a decent one from Radio Shack (made it fit in the original spot on the hand control), and ran a ground directly back to the engine block.
