For some reason I can't get my motor to idle. I'm not very experienced in motorized bicycles. Had my bike for 2 months now, and I just not sure what to do. I have a 2 stroke motor (80 cc) with stock carb. The longest idle was for about 45 seconds then dies. How can I fix this problem?

there is a adjustment screw located on the left the side of the carb.
try to turn it left or right (which way increases the rpms)
you should try to get it to where it will idle for 2 minutes and then slowly go the other way decreasing the idle
(let the engine cool before doing this)
in till it dies again, and then turn it 1/8 of a turn.
hope this helps.

Thanks I will try it. I hope it works. If not I'll be back.

not to insult OP, but 2 months without finding the idle screw may be a record

seems we somehow should be able to find a way to get more new users to read up a bit on these

There's a lot of information in the stickies for the 2 Stroke engine's subforum, also dropping your metering needle in the carb slide, ( raising the circlip one notch at a time and testing..) will lean out the idle mixture some. The stock carbs seem to idle rich, I wouldn't know fully as I replaced it with a Yamaha PW50 carb on my 48cc, I didn't test the engine with the stock carb more than a few minutes.
