As long as you don't like your crankshaft and lower rod bearing to last very long, 14k rpm is fun. and yes a Phantom cylinder can easily make 10hp with some port work and a pipe, but you fail to mention the clutch will need a significant upgrade too. Can't go wrong with the Menace 85. You get the extreme best of both worlds. Its only a little bit more expensive, but makes almost 10 HP when tuned and can rev up to 14,000 RPM. Very good quality, and it's capable of all these things out of the box.
Suddenly a "little bit more" turned into more than double the price, and that doesn't include he pipe either. A proper pipe, is hundreds, and the MZ65 with a Phantom flange on it isn't a proper pipe for it, yet still more than $100 on top.
People always greatly undersell the cascade effect of modification to an engine that is already pushing the limits of what the platform can do. The Phantom cylinder is a modified copy of a 7hp chainsaw cylinder, and it was purposefully restricted to reduce the power so it could still work with a stock style clutch and crank.
