Brand new, learning all I can. My purpose is for mt. trails of North Idaho. Hopefully it will help me bring out my elk or for scouting ,when I'm out of breath. I'm starting from scatch. I'm here to learn and apply.

Welcome to MBc.
Cool, but I don't think you sneak up on elk unless you go electric. lol

Hi ruffrider. Welcome to MBc! Home of many answers, and awaiting your ideas.
My opinion, rearmount, belt drive. Its expensive but more reliable. I dont own one but ive been studying them for a month. I currently have a v frame HT. I wouldnt trust it in the mt.trails.

Welcome to MBc. It sounds like you're looking for something a bit beefier than most of the bikes here. You might want to check http://www.dugbike.net/ I haven't seen any posts by Dug3x3 lately, but his stuff looks like it would get you off the roads, and help pull your elk back to the roads.

welcome
